Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State says one of the injured #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate on Tuesday has died in a Lagos hospital on Wednesday.

It was gathered that security officers opened fire on the protesters who were agitating for an end to Police brutality and Bad governance on Tuesday night. However, several protesters lost their lives.

Recall that the governor had said that no life was lost in the Tuesday attack, but in a series of tweets on Wednesday, the governor said that an injured victim died at Reddington Hospital due to a head injury.

He tweeted, “Information reaching us now is that a life was lost at R

Eddington Hospital due to blunt force trauma to the head. It is an unfortunate and very sad loss.

“This is an isolated case. We are still investigating if he was a protester.

“This is the toughest night of our lives as forces beyond our direct control have moved to make dark notes in our history, but we will face it and come out stronger.

“I’ve just concluded visits to hospitals with victims of this unfortunate shooting incident at Lekki.

In an earlier live broadcast, the governor said he is currently investigating the shooting of the protesters by security operatives, adding that he is also talking to the leadership of the Nigerian Army on the incident.
